AVELLINO
Located in the Sabato Valley, this town had been severely damaged by the bombing of 1943 and the earthquake of 1980.
So, unfortunately little remains of the original architecture.
The Museo Irpino displays archaeological finds ranging from the neolithical to the Roman era.
The neo-classical Cathedral was rebuild in the 18th century and hosts an interesting Norman crypta.
Also interesting: the Palazzo della Dogana and the Torre dell'Orologio.
