Visit Piazza del Foro with the Tempio Capitolino, built in 73 AD, the basilica, the theatre and private houses with interesting mosaics.
Among the attractions not to be missed we cite the Monastero di S.Giulia (a museum with ancient Roman and Lombard masterpieces), the Castello, Piazza Paolo VI (hosts the 11th century Duomo Vecchio and the Baroque Duomo Nuovo), Santa Maria del Carmine, the Romanesque-Gothic S.Francesco, Santi Nazaro e Celso (hosts a polyptich by Titian) and the Pinacoteca Civica Tosio Martinengo, one of Italy's major art galleries.
Don't miss Piazza della Loggia, an elegant Renaissance square, lined with a Venetian style loggia, the Monte di Pietà and the Torre dell'Orologio, all works by Sansovino and Palladio.
