A small enchanting lake with the S.Giulio Island almost in the centre of the lake.

On the island is the Romanesque Basilica di S.Giulio with a splendid black marble pulpit.

On the eastern side of the lake, the pictoresque village of Orta San Giulio and behind this village, the religious complex of the Sacro Monte dedicated to St Francis.
