The most famous one were built by the Viscounts of Challant, a family which dominated the area in the 16th-18th centuries.
Don't miss a vist to the massive castle of Fénis, which now hosts the Museo dell'Arredamento Valdostano.
In the vicinity of Saint-Vincent, the location of a famous casino and a mineral water spa, visit the castle of Issogne with its richly frescoed halls.
